When we designed our yurts we wanted them to belong in the landscape, not stick out like a sore thumb. That's still how we think about colour. Here's every option we offer today, by range.

What colours does the ORON come in?

Five exterior colours, and you can mix the roof and the walls any way you like:

  • Sand Dune, a pale sandy neutral
  • Bushland, a muted green
  • Riverstone, a soft grey
  • Red Ochre, an earthy red
  • Deepwater, a deep blue

The cover has a matte finish, which keeps the colour soft rather than shiny.

What liner colours can you choose inside an ORON?

The natural hemp-cotton liner comes in 9 colours: Raw, Amber, Jade, Ocean, Linen, Cocoa, Ash, Camel and Sky. The liner is what you see from inside, so it sets the mood of the room more than the exterior does.

What colours does the Geo Dome come in?

Its 900 GSM cover comes in four colours: Fawn Brown, Soft Ivory, Woodland Green and Sandstone Beige. The steel frame is black or white, and the insulated lining comes in Warm Cream, Riverstone Grey or Sandstone Beige.

How do you choose the right colour?

  • Match the landscape. Greens like Bushland and Woodland Green sink into bush. Sandy tones like Sand Dune and Fawn Brown suit dry paddocks and coast.
  • Think about heat. Lighter colours reflect more sun, which helps on hot, exposed sites. For more, see are yurts hot in summer.
  • Two tones on an ORON. A lighter roof with darker walls is a popular way to get both.
  • See it in daylight. Colours look different on screen. Ask us for photos of real builds in the colour you like.

Frequently asked questions

Can I mix roof and wall colours?

Yes on the ORON, with any roof and wall combination of its five colours.

What is the most popular ORON colour?

It varies with the landscape. Greens and sandy neutrals are common choices for bush and rural sites.

Do lighter colours keep a yurt cooler?

Lighter colours reflect more sun, which helps on exposed sites. Insulation and airflow matter more, though.

What colours do Geo Domes come in?

Fawn Brown, Soft Ivory, Woodland Green and Sandstone Beige, with a black or white frame.
